Requirements & Student Journal

In addition to your 65 live hours, you have an additional 135 hours that need to be completed prior to receiving your 200 Hour Powers Yoga Certification approved by Yoga Alliance. This may seem like a daunting task, but it is actually an incredible opportunity to deepen your practice and broaden your understanding of yoga. These additional hours are designed to give you the chance to explore different styles of yoga, delve into the philosophy and history of the practice, and gain teaching experience. By completing these hours, you will not only become a certified yoga teacher but also a well-rounded and knowledgeable practitioner.

One way to log your practice hours is to use our online practice journal or you can use a physical notebook to document your progress. The important thing is to have a place where you can record the type of practice you did, the duration, and any observations or reflections you have. This journal will serve as a valuable tool for tracking your progress and reflecting on your growth throughout the training. It can also help you identify areas where you may want to focus more of your time and energy.

When logging your practice hours, be sure to include a variety of different yoga styles. This will not only help you become a well-rounded teacher but also expose you to different aspects of the practice. Take the time to explore different styles such as Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Yin, or Restorative. Each style offers its own unique benefits and challenges. By trying different styles, you can discover what resonates with you and what you may want to incorporate into your own teaching. Remember, this is a journey of self-discovery and exploration, so embrace the opportunity to step outside of your comfort zone.
